ABOUT ME

I am a student of light and shadow. The adventure of chasing the light, working a scene, finding a composition and experiencing some of the most beautiful places to take photos, adds so much to my life. I am a third generation photographer who learned many lighting and composition principals from my father, Robert Hurly. I take photos to document my family's activities, but also as a more intentional, contemplative way of seeing deeply. Traveling in a vintage Airstream, my current project is centered on exploring the National Parks. I'd rather be out searching for the perfect light, than tied to a computer, so expect only occasional updates here.
